During September 2009, I spent 10 days in Krems. It's in Lower Austria on the River Danube about 70 kilometres West of Vienna.
There are two main reasons why I went: to run the Wachau Half Marathon and to have a walking holiday from Krems to Melk.
I arrived in Krems early in the evening of Friday 18th September. I looked around Krems on the Saturday, did the half marathon from Spitz to Krems on the Sunday and then walked from Krems to Melk during the course of Monday to Friday. As a reward for getting to Melk, late on the Friday afternoon, I caught the boat back from Melk to Krems.
