These web pages describe a holiday that I had in the Kruger National Park in South Africa during December 2006 and January 2007.
The trip was similar to previous trips I've made to the Kruger. First fly to Johannesburg. Then take a 75 minute domestic flight to Nelspruit. Pick up a hire car. Drive to the Kruger Park.
Inside the park, you can drive on tarred roads, and gravel roads. You are not allowed to drive off-road, and you are not allowed to get out of your vehicle (except at a few picnic spots).
There are several rest-camps, areas having accommodation which are fenced off from the surrounding park. You are not allowed in the park at dark, and so during December and January you must be in the rest-camp between 1830 and 0430. (The times vary a bit for other months of the year.)
